🌿 From Garden to Table

Growing Healthy Bodies, Healthy Minds & Healthy Habits

At KinderAcademy for Young Scholars, we believe healthy habits begin early. Our From Garden to Table initiative gives children opportunities to grow, care for, and harvest fresh produce through our hydroponic garden and Green Sprouts Program.

These hands-on experiences help children understand where food comes from while developing responsibility, curiosity, environmental awareness, and an appreciation for healthy eating.

Our school meal program also introduces children to a variety of familiar, nutritious foods prepared with fresh, locally sourced ingredients.

🌱 Learning Through Gardening

Through gardening and food-based learning experiences, children discover how plants grow and how food moves from the garden to the table.

Planting, observing, caring for, and harvesting crops helps children develop patience, responsibility, teamwork, and respect for the environment. When produce is available, children may also see selected herbs or vegetables incorporated into school meals or classroom food activities.

🍽️ Important Meal Information

KinderAcademy prepares fresh, balanced meals each day using locally sourced ingredients whenever possible.

Families should inform the school of any food allergies, dietary restrictions, or medical feeding requirements during enrollment. We will work with families to make reasonable meal substitutions where we are able, such as providing alternatives for children who cannot consume dairy or who have other dietary restrictions. If a child's dietary needs cannot be safely accommodated within our meal program, parents may be asked to provide meals or specific food items from home.

Our weekly menu includes:

🍽️ Main Meal – The scheduled meal served for the day.

🍝 Alternative Meal – An alternative offered for children who are unable to eat or do not eat part of the main meal because of dietary restrictions, allergies, or individual food preferences.

🥪 Emergency Meal – A simple meal prepared when unforeseen circumstances, such as power outages, equipment issues, or interruptions to meal preparation, prevent the scheduled meal from being served.

Menus may change based on seasonal produce, ingredient availability, and operational needs.

🌿 The Fruits of Our Labour

There is something special about seeing children harvest something they have planted and cared for. Through our Green Sprouts Program, children learn where food comes from while developing responsibility, patience, environmental awareness, and an appreciation for healthy living.

At KinderAcademy, meaningful learning grows beyond the classroom.
